Welcome to the Salt Creek Cottage in beautiful Carpinteria! We hope you are already making yourself at home in this unique space. Everything you will need to know for your relaxing stay is in the information below. Please review this information and do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. THE BASICS

Check-in is at 3pm. Check-out is at 10am.

If your stay is longer than 2 weeks, there will be a garage door opener and key for you during your stay. If your stay is shorter than 2 weeks, please use the garage and backdoor keypads during your stay.

WIFI:

Network: Dorrance 5Ghz

Password: garden22

KITCHEN:

Please try to mitigate food down the sink as the garbage disposal will get clogged with large food items. Thank you!

TELEVISIONS:

Cox Cable is our provider.

Living Room: The remotes are stored in the book on the coffee table. Please use the Grey COX remote when selecting a TV show. The black SONY remote can be used to access Netflix.

Bedroom Televisions: At the end of your stay, please leave the remotes on the side tables in their room.

FIREPLACE:

The Fireplace is gas. In order to turn it on/off, remove the black panel directly underneath the fireplace. It is pretty snug, so it might take some shimming. Once it’s removed, you will see a switch, Move it to the ON position. When you are ready to turn it off, switch it manually to the OFF position. THE GLASS WILL GET VERY HOT SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL, ESPECIALLY IF SMALL CHILDREN ARE PRESENT.

PHONE:

There is a landline in the kitchen. The number is (805) 220-6679. We ask that you use it for emergencies or at a strict discretion. No international calls are allowed.

MAIL:

Please avoid mailing anything to the house if staying for a short period of time. It is typical for there to be slow shipping times, and mail will often arrives after the expected delivery date. If you choose to mail something directly to the house, the management is not responsible for the arrival of the item(s). If mail arrives later, there will be a $50 charge, plus the cost of shipping.

AC/HEATING:

The thermostat is located between the stairwell and downstairs bathroom. To change the temperature, hit the MODE button until you have selected HEAT, COOL & AUTO. If you select AUTO, select what temperature you would like the house set to. The FAN can be either set to AUTO which will turn on when needed, or OFF.

ALARM

There is an alarm keypad near the door to the garage. We ask that you do not use it as it is only for the Owner’s usage.

WASHING MACHINE

If you choose to use your own detergent, we just ask that you use high efficiency liquid detergent. Anything else will cause the washer to malfunction. Thank You.

TRASH AND RECYCLING:

The landscapers will remove Trash & Recycling from the Cans located on the East side of the house every Tuesday, unless it’s a holiday and then it will be the following day.

GARAGE:

The Garage is for your use during your stay. There are three cabinets for your use and we have left the following items for your use:

• Child’s Pack n’ Play

• 2-4 Beach Chairs

• 1 Beach Umbrella

We ask that you DO NOT park on the driveway next to the garage. It is part of the house By Laws, it will block the neighbors and they will complain.

MUSIC:

Sonos is the Sound System for the Television Sets. We have provided a portable music speaker for your enjoyment. We ask that you do NOT leave the property with the speaker. It is sensitive to sun exposure as well as sand. Thank you for your understanding.

We also ask that you be respectful that this is a neighborhood and all music/noise should be kept to a minimum, especially before 8 am and after 10 pm.

LANDSCAPERS:

There is a gardening service every Tuesday Morning. They will remove trash and recycling.

THE RULES

GUEST RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES:

This rental home receives continuous maintenance and attention. All appliances should be in working order and all furniture, linens, and towels should be clean and stain free. Please report any stained, damaged, or non-operational items within 24 hours of your arrival or you may be charged for their replacement.

NO SMOKING:

Please do not smoke anywhere on the property at any time. This includes the outdoor spaces.

NO CANDLES OR OPEN FIRES:

Candles, open fires, and unattended fires are not allowed at any time on the property. We appreciate your respect and thank you for your strict compliance in this time of drought in California.

QUIET HOURS:

Please be respectful of our neighbors and our continued positive relationship. Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am every day. Complaints will result in the loss of your security deposit.

SERVICE ANIMALS:

This home does not allow pets. Please do not leave service animals unattended in the house. Please be respectful of your neighbors and always pick-up after your service animal. Please be transparent about any damage that your service animal does to the house and be willing to pay for fixing any damage done by your service animal to the house or its furniture.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE

o Check-out time is 10am. We need this time to be able to meet our rigorous cleaning protocols and ensure the spaces is immaculate for our next guests

o Please load and run the dishwasher upon departure

o Please turn-off all lights and electronics

o Please turn-off the heater/ AC

o Please close all windows and lock all doors.

If you have extra time and can start a load of towels prior to your departure, that greatly helps our cleaning staff. Thank you so much!
